Building Features

A post war building which was constructed in the mid-1950s. The architectural design is based on the Stile Littorio, an Italian modernist style of the 1920s. Consisting of simple and yet monumental symmetrical façade features, sharp edges and the predominant use of limestone.  Although the original use of the building remains uncertain, the earliest indications show that the building was already earmarked as a telephone exchange since the late 1950s.
